NP Aerospace (http://www.npaerospace.co.uk), one of the largest thermosetting molding companies in Europe, manufactures a wide variety of composite products in niche markets including commercial aircraft seatback frames, aramid composite combat helmets, protective personal body armor, carbon composite radiography support couches and light-armored composite vehicle structures.

The division’s trade molding business consists of compression and injection moldings for military and commercial applications, primarily in the lighting and automotive industries. Recently introduced new products include practice bomb bodies, which the Company expects to be a sustainable market niche in the future.

The division’s personal protection business has grown significantly due to the recent rise ofthe terrorist threat. The Company produces police body armor, military helmets and bomb disposal suits. Products are generally sold to the U.K. Ministry of Defense and to other foreign governments. The Ministry of Defense jointly developed the bomb disposal suits with NP Aerospace.

In an effort to expand into new, diverse markets, the Company manufactures carbon fiber components for radiation therapy patient tables to be used during cancer treatment. The Company has an excellent relationship with its customer, Varian, and has recently received the “supplier of the year” award.

NP Aerospace is a leader in the manufacture of defensive armored vehicles for police and anti-terrorism applications. NPA designs and manufactures composite panels to encapsulate the occupants of the vehicles. NPA’s composite panels have demonstrated excellent ballistic performance. NPA is provided with the chassis, generally a Range Rover, and assembles the vehicle with third party parts (such as wheels and bulletproof glass windshields) as well as its own compression molded composite panels. NP Aerospace has assembled over 1,000 vehicles that require on-going annual maintenance.
